What is Spun Glass?
Spun glass is blown glass that has slender threads of glass incorporated in it or fine blown glass having delicate threading or filigree.
Industrial spun glass is known as fiberglass. Fiberglass is a material consisting of extremely fine filaments of glass that are combined in yarn and woven into fabrics, used in masses as a thermal and acoustical insulator, or embedded in various resins to make boat hulls, fishing rods, and the like.

Spun glass art consists of objects created by a fine hand blown process that has slender, often spiral glass threading or delicate ornamental tracery incorporated into it. A good example of spun glass artwork is shown below.
